Hi everyone...

remember me....rahulkhanna...i had posted my message in oct ....and when i went for the interview they had lost my file...
Finally they found my file and today the interview got over....
Below are the details...

Firstly before I start I have to thank Folinskyinla and the group for helping me on this interview.
Folinskyinla you were simply great and your golden rules helped me a lot. Ok details.

Had the interview at 9:30 am so reached the office by 8:30. stood in the cold outside for half and hour (security check) and finally got inside. My mother in law was also with us.
We went to the 14th floor and beyond that my Mother in law was not allowed so she went to the cafe...

9:20 am inside the office
9:30 am the lady took my interview letter and asked me to fill the forms.

10:00 am waiting
10:30 am still waiting
10:45 am was called in for the interview.
First he took us in one room to get finger printed and sign some paper.
10:50 am took us in the room for the interview.

There was this very very polite office Steve and he asked us to take an oat that whatever we speak we are going to speak the truth.

He asked us where we live. He asked my wife what does she do. He asked me what do I do. After that he asked us for the tax papers for the last 3 yrs.

He asked if we had any insurance with us and i told him that we had health and car insurance. He just said ok and didn't see any papers on it. Also asked if we had joint accounts and we said yes and i asked him if he wanted to see the statements and he said no.

He asked us if we had gone any place together...or if we have been seperated in the last 3 yrs for longer than 15 months. I told him no we are "unfortunately" stuck with each other...:-) ..but he didn't find it funny....

Anywaz...after that he just asked for 2 pics and stamped my passport.

11:00 am we were out of the building and staright to the liquor store..:-)

So, it was pretty simple and he didn't even ask for pics, financial docs....he only asked us and we replied. Didn't see any paperwork or pics or anything except the tax files.

So it was a pretty much easy interview.

Thanks to the group and everyone on this forums for your help.

Congrats!

My I-751 approval letter says 6 months to get physical green card in
the mail after office visit. Does anybody know what is the more
accurate time frame now a days? In particular for the San Jose, CA
district.

As a side note, the San Jose office is a lot more reasonable now. When
I was there a couple of years ago, there was no way to get a ticket to
get service unless you are there waiting in line before the door
opens. Now, you can be there a couple of hours after the door opens,
and still be able to get serviced!
