hi all,

I emailed to the us embassy in chennai and they say said my appointment is scheduled for july 11th. i have still not received the appointment letter through mail. They said they sent it on the may 17th.

What should i do if i dont receive the letter ?. will they issue another letter ?

i hope some one can help

It's only been one week since the letter was sent. It can take that long for a letter to arrive from Canada, let alone India. If you start obsessing over it now, you'll soon be a complete wreck.

When my wife's appointment was scheduled in Bangladesh (I knew the date by calling DOS), she waited for about 20 days before she actually went to the post office and picked it up herself! To give you an idea - the embassy is about 10/12 miles away from the post office and the post office is about 2-3 miles away from her house.

I don't expect India to be any better in terms of mail service. So, chill out and wait. You should wait till mid-June (at least). Use this time to prepare for the interview instead. Good luck.
