Question Applying for a travel document while pending I-751?

Hello folks,

I've applied before for a travel document not with the intention of staying out of the US for more than 6 months, but I actually use it as a passport due to certain circumstances. The travel document's expiration date is tied up with the greencard's expiration date, so my present travel document expires in march. I have just submitted my i-751 (waiver based on bonafide marriage to USC) and, God Willing, will receive the first NOA letter soon with the 1-year extension.

My question is, if I'm pending i-751, is it actually possible that I apply for a reentry permit (or travel document)? I looked at the form I-131 it doesnt really say anything about that. Kindly let me know if you have any info..

No. Even if you applied for one, it will expire when your 2-year green card expires.

The only thing you can use when you have a pending I-751 is the 1-year extension letter.
