After 10 days of bliss at home with the folks, we crossed into the US at
Detroit on New Year's Day. When we pulled up to the booth we were asked our
citizenship, and handed the AP's over for the officer to examine. She handed
us a piece of paper and directed us to pull over and go to the Immigration
office. She also congratulated us on being informed enough to have the AP's
,unlike an unfortunate couple who had married in the States, honeymooned in
Canada. The bride was refused entry back into the US.
In the office we filled out our new I 94's which were stapled into our
passports, signed our names on a list, and were wished a Happy New Year and
a safe trip. All told it took us about 10 minutes and we were on our way.
