Will one lose his legal status (H1 or H4) when he travels abroad and
enters with advanced parole?
How long does one can stay abroad with advanced parole?

I hope you don't think AP will put you in "illegal" status! What happens is
that, once you enter using AP, your H status becomes null and void. In other
words, you are a prospective immigrant "pending adjustment of status". You are
no longer an non-immigrant as with H status.
