Picture ID ( DL, state ID ) will be enough.

No, but you should carry some proof of status, especially if driving
with in 100 miles or so of a border. For instance, near Oceanside, CA
(North of San Diego) there is a Border Patrol check point. This is for
people in the US on a visa and do not have a green card yet. If you have
a green card, you are required to carry it.

Some airports also have little ATM-like booths where you have to swipe a credit card (that's how they check your name, and it doesn't have to be the same credit card you used to pay for the ticket). Your flight information comes up, you choose a seat, and then your boarding pass gets printed out.
It's really convenient if you don't have luggage. If you do, then you still have to check it in the usual way. From our experience, the check-in counter person can print out the boarding pass for you, too.
My husband has always been nervous about e-tickets because he thinks "it's not real" unless you have your tickets in hand when you get to the airport. So far, we haven't had any problems at all, though.
Have a fun vacation.

Print out your receipt/confirmation notice from on-line, and present it at the airport (either at the check-in desk if you're checking luggage, or at the security checkpoint if you are proceeding directly to the gate) along with your photo ID and you should be fine. That's how it works in Phoenix, anyway. :-)

Re: AP for domestic traveling?
Thanks all for your helpful information.
I'll make sure to bring copies of receipt from uscis proving that i've applied for adjustment of status along with my EAD and Driver's license (Id and permit in hand but waiting for driving test to turn my permit into a DL)
the reason that we're nervous about eticket is that we've always been travel with real ticket in hand and i would check in with curbside counter ( not the ones inside the airport, but those you see as soon as you pull into the dropoff point) we pay them between 3-15 dollars depends on how many luggages we have. it's very convience and painless (don't have to stand in line) however, we're not sure if we can still do the same with eticket? any one had experience with eticket checking at the curbside counter? we really need to save time for this trip because i'll be working till 90 minutes before the plane take off and there's 30 minutes drive to airport. if we could save sometime....it would be wonderful..
thanks a lot
Thank you

You should be able to use E-Tickets ate curbside.
Additonally, if curbside is busy, it might be faster to use the self
service kiosks. Additionally, some airlines let you check in and get a
boarding pass on your pc.
