Default AOS through K-1 visa

Hello, I have questions. My wife and her daughter (age 7) are here in the US with K-1 visa. When applying for AOS, do they need to file I-485 and pay fee separately? Also, I never received NOA-2 for her approval I-129F (perhaps it get lost on the mail). I only had the email approval from CRIS. Can the email be the document in lieu of NOA-2? or should I ask INS for copy? Thanks.

If your stepdaughter entered the US as a K-2 derivative, then your wife only needs to file one I-485 for both of them.

It doesn't much matter at this point, since your wife and stepdaughter are already in the US.

You can try sending the email in lieu of the NOA2, but you may well get an RFE for it. It costs to get it replaced.
