Default AOS & Tax Returns

I have a question about AOS. The I-864 (or whatever that number is) is required for
AOS, right. And you also have to have 3-years of tax returns? How do you get the tax
returns if you have e-filed or telefiled? If you have a co-sponsor, do both the
sponsor & co-sponsor have to have the tax returns and separate I-864? Thank you so
much for any advice. KAT

I had a similar problem (but arising through stoopidity instead of high-techness)
and was advised to get a tax transcript from the IRS, which is Good Enough. It's
free, even.

Yes both have to do an I-864 and both have to supply tax returns. For those that filed electronically, why not call the 1-800 number for IRS and request the tax transcripts to be sent to you. It would take about ten days to get. If you have an IRS office close by, you can go in person and request them.
