Default aos questions

Hello,

AOS interview coming up. Fiance arrived in US in early July, married, filed
papers, interview is next Friday.

One thing I am a little concerned about, I really don't have any bills or
accounts that show joint ownership. Wife does not work, has no money or
income. How crucial is it for me to show this? Should I run down to the
bank and get Tanya's name on my account?

I do have other papers, such as medical bills from my company's insurance
program (Tanya and baby go to Dr and DDS a lot :-) and you should see my
phone bills, with all those calls back to Russia. Will that impress?

I've got all the other bases covered, I think, but the joint documents thing
has me a bit worried.

Thanks all,
David

P.S. we took a trip to the east coast in July. Should I bring pictures of
us together, along with the airplane tickets?

Is Tanyas baby your baby too? If so this is great proof that you have a realationship (as long as both your names are on the birth certificate as the parents)...also if the baby and your wife are on your work insurance that is good proof..have you listed them as tax exemptions on your work papers too?

Plane tickets, phone bills, letters addressed to you both and photographs are all good too, My husband and I are going for our interview this week and I was worried that we didn't have enough to 'prove' a relationship...even after 4 years of being together and over 2 years of marriage..I never thought about saving receipts and stuff like that, as I didn't think I would need them ...I still don't have a SS# and I guess your wife is in the same boat...so she won't have things like a job or bank accounts or utility bills in her name, and they know this...anything you have ..including private letters between yourself will all to towards proving you have a relationship.

Good luck next week

Thanks for the reply. What you say reminds me of the criteria Tanya faced
when she had her visa interview. I attended that interview and the consular
officer said that the baby (yes, baby is ours) was proof enough of a
relationship. Is the first AOS interview basically the same thing (but just
here in the US)? Yes, Tanya and baby are now my little tax dependents,
bless 'em :-)

HI there

well from what I can gather the first AOS interview is the only one...unless there are problems that may result in another 'follow up' interview...I know that your interview letter for the appointment says initial interview but that is just how they word it...I think it's just incase they want to see you again...but I haven't heard about anyone going back for more interviews

It sounds like you should be good to go with the evidence you already have, especially since most of the evidence has already been 'approved' at the visa interview...but like I said, there is no harm in taking any pics you have and letters/invitations that were addressed to you both, and anything else you may think 'might' be important....there is no such thing as being over prepared! LOL

Don't worry too much as it seems like you have enough proof already...I know I was worried too...but my lawyer said that our son was proof enough too...and being listed on insurance plans and tax forms does the trick real well!

lots of luck next week, and don't forget to let everyone know how it went
