AOS pending, got laid off when on H-1B
I have Adjustment of Status (AOS) pending based on marriage. Already had the interview. The interviewer took away my I-94 cards attached to my H-1B status. I also have EAD card based on AOS. However, I never showed the EAD card to my employer. Recently, I received lay-off notice.
My questions are:
Do I need to show my EAD card to my employer to switch to EAD status?
Was I still on H-1B when the interviewer took away my I-94 cards?
If I claim unemployment insurance, is it going to affect my pending AOS case?
Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Is your AOS filing already approved and you are just waiting for
greencard? Then I think unemployment claim would be fine. I know
someone waiting greencard (political asylum) received unemployment
claim just very recently.

No. My AOS is pending, not approved. I did not get the stamp.
