I have received a notice to attend my AOS interview in San Francisco next week. I
have not received finger prints notice yet. Is this normal, or possible.

Well, it's not the way things are supposed to be, but it is not unusual. You will
appear at the interview, and will have the fingerprints taken later, and will then
have to wait until the results reach the INS examiner and the examiner closes your
case and grants you permanent resident status. You will be notified by mail.
You will then have to go back to INS and get the stamp in your passport.
