If this was an AOS interview why wasn't the AP taken from you? Did I
miss something?
We did get the stamp in Orlando, but from what happened next I wonder
about the training (or lack thereof) of these officers.
My husband got approved at his AOS interview (in Phoenix), and received the I-551 stamp in his passport. The Officer took his 2 EAD cards, but did not take his APs. Probably just an oversight on her part.

Thanks so much for your help..
Hi:

PROBABLY not. Note the "probably."

BTW, please note that although I am a lawyer, I am not YOUR lawyer. I don't know the whole facts of your case, I have not seen the paperwork and I was not at the interview.

Hope nobody minds me bumping a thread from 3 weeks ago, but my wife and
I had our AOS in NYC on May 1 this year, and I got my passport stamped
at the end of the interview, so what she said is not true. NYC does
still stamp your passport on the spot if they approve directly.

It is up to the individual DAO apparently. CIS personnel have been known to make their own "rules".
