How important is the joint lease agreement at the AOS interview. Is this document so important that you might be denied permanent residency without it...or are there other documents that you can produce to prove a shared life together that will be accepted at the USCIS?
Thanks,
Steve

I've been told that when it comes time for Ken to adjust status, the
lease agreement in both names is one of the many things USCIS will
accept. Other things mentioned to me are joint utility bills, bank
accounts, loans (house purchase, car purchase), cards we sent to each
other, pictures together,etc...)
AOS Interview...lease agreement.

Every case is different. Do not obssess on one particular document. Lets Mary Aliena marries John Q. Citizen and moves into to John Q.'s apartment. There will be no joint lease. That is OK. The utilities are all in his name from before -- that is OK. But she starts getting magazine subscriptions at that address -- looks good. She is added to the automobile insurance -- looks good. They set up a joint credit card, joint checking account, etc.
Each case is different.

We didn't take a joint lease/mortgage and everything was fine. It was
easier for my husband to buy the house in his own name as I was overseas and
we haven't got around to putting it in both names yet. We took in photos of
our wedding, joint credit card statement, statements from joint bank
account, telephone and gas bills in both our names and boarding passes from
when we flew to the UK together after we were married. Like I said we had
no problems with just that stuff.
Good luck

I have phoned my father-in-law, who said that he would sign a declaration that my marriage to his daughter is 100% genuine. (It's great to have people on your side.)
I'm worrying...but I guess it is just natural.
Thanks for the feedback, Folinskyinla

I'm reading about immigration procedure daily - I guess I am worrying about every little detail. I have loads of evidence to support my case...and everything will probably be fine - but it is getting closer to the interview now...and I should be getting a date any day now. As I said earlier, my father-in-law is prepared to give me a signed declaration that my marriage to his daughter is genuine - so that should carry a great deal of weight...plus, I have a joint bank account with my wife, we have joint utility bill receipts, IDs with our address on, etc. (It should be enough.)
Thanks for the feedback,
Steve

My AOS interview was over on November 19, 2003. I don't have my name in the lease too coz' the owner said they need to do send my name for security check and so on...and it will takes months.
What my husband did just put my name as the resident in the same apartment in separate form.
