Hi,
First post here! My AOS interview is coming up, I am the alien and the
petitioner is my US citizen husband. I have a ton of documents
supporting evidence of a relationship, but there is a problem.
I left my *original* marriage certificate (the one with original
signatures by the pastor who married us) on the table as I was putting
a AOS binder file together, and dumb me left it there overnight, where
my cats managed to TEAR IT APART (I guess they were attracted to the
shiny seal).
So now I have a marriage certificate torn in three pieces and missing
is a corner. I duct taped them together back, but I am really afraid
the interviewer is just going to laugh at me and deny me because of
this. :(
I have all the other stuff, copies of the marriage certificate,
abstract of marriage... What should I do? Bring the duct taped marriage
certificate with me, or just bring the certified copies? Is that enough
ground to deny my AOS?

You need the "legal" marriage certicficate, this can normally be obtained from the local courthouse or registrars office where it was filed.

Well that is not the marriage certificate you needed anyway.
You need the one issued by the city clerk/registar which shows the filing marks and has the seal and/or stamp on it. The keepstake one you get at the wedding ceremony is not an official marriage certificate.

Would that be the certified copy of the marriage certificate? I obtened
this from the local courthouse after the wedding. It has a raised seal.
Will that be enough for the AOS interview?
Thanks!

That is the only one for the AOS interview. The one the cats got to would not have done it. The raised seal is what they are looking for. You can have a wedding certificate signed by the officiant but unless it has been registered the state does not recognize it.

Yup the certified copy is what you need, the one you tore up is only a souveiner of the day and not a legal document.
