Default AOS forms

Hey everyone,

Here I am trying to put together my AOS forms and fill them correctly ! as our civil wedding will take place soon ;-)))

I am filling all the forms recomended on the faq page:
I-485 aos,
I-130 petition for an alien relative,
G-325A biographic info,
advance parol,
I-864 affidavit of support &
Employment authorization...

I wonder if before I take this info for granted should I go to the local office and ask them wat exactly they want. What do you guys think?

BTW, can I go trough Boston living in CT ?

Uh! and also I could not find fillable forms on the INS web site, anybody knows if they exist ?

Thanks once more,

groovy

Only a few of the forms are actually fillable, the rest, print out, then fill in by hand.
If you're going to be using forms found online, then only use those at the INS website, as they are the most upto date.

By the looks of things, you've covered all your bases regarding which forms you need, thats everything I filed for my AOS in NY, minus the AP forms. You'd probably spend a very long time waiting at the INS offices.

Groovy not a K-1 recipeint? If not, then it is two G-325A's ... one for you and one for your spouse.

If you are a K-1 recipient, ditch the I-130. It isn't needed for K-1'ers.

Believe you will have to go through Hartford even though it is listed as a suboffice of Boston although on poster to the experience pages said better to go to Boston. But know if you actually can do that.

If you have the time and want to, no harm in trying to file in person,

Thanks Nathan and Rete !

and yes Rete, I am a k-1, good to point out for me that I do not need I-130... I am saving 110$ with your advice !

I have spend the afternoon reading the "evidence" I have to send with every form and I wonder if I got the right impression. All forms require 2 photos and some of them repeat that I have to send things like my birth certificate and copies, copies of the i-94 arroval departure record and copies of k1 visa, marriage certificate and so on...

Getting to the point, do I have to prepare forms one by one, send everything they ask for with every single form in separate folders or

look at it as a package and send just 2 photos, one copy of my birth certificate, one copy of k1, etc etc etc for the whole application ??

Ufff, this is a little bit harder than I-129, isnt it ? !!!!

thanks so much for being out here,

You're welcome ;-) Have a coffee and donut at Dunkins when you go to Hartford and/or Boston with the money you are saving.

Yes it is harder only because there are more petitions/applications to complete. A suggestion would be take it one form at a time.

Start with the AOS. Fill it in. And start a list of attachments needed. how to set up the list will follow below.

Then do the G-325A in the same manner. Add a new category to list for attachments for G-325A

And so forth.

List

Attachments

Document...............I-485.........G-325......I-131......I-765,,,,,,Totals

Birth Certificate
Marriage License
ADIT Photos
K-1
I-94

And so on,

Hope this helps.

Groovy,

When I sent off my AOS package, I gave them everything they needed for each package - i.e. copies of K1 and I-94 etc for each. I don't know for sure if this was necessary, but it seemed like a good precaution to make each application "standalone", just in case different people work on the different applications (seems plausible).
