Default AOS change of name question

I'm wondering about my wife changing her name and how that affects things when we fill out the paperwork to adjust status.

As I understand it, we have to go back to the county clerk and get the marriage license copies, and at that time, if my wife is changing her name, she gets the necessary paperwork to change her name. The clerk also mentioned at that time, she gets another social security number?

Do I need to know anything before we proceed with the process? We are compiling information now in order to Adjust status and fill in all the necessary forms.

Do you have any suggestions on how to handle this process?

It's simple. Fill out the paperwork with the name she will use after
marriage.

Not a different number, just a different name. The SSA will want to verify
things all over again so she should wait until she has an EAD in the new
name before going to the SS office.

Sorry to ask again, but if she just enters the name she will use after marriage, such as "Jane C. Smith" doesn't this get confusing if her passport, Visa etc. has her maiden name? "Jane C. Jones"

Should we go ahead and get her name changed right away?

She can get her passport changed later; although the USCIS screws many
things up they don't have a problem with the maiden name being different
from the married name. They have been known to give people different names
by accident (of course long ago on Ellis Island they gave people different
names to be more American!). In the first couple of years of marriage my
wife carried a copy of our marriage certificate around until everything had
got changed over.

Employment authorization document; this is what an I-751 is filed for. It's
optional.

I-751 is for removing conditions.
