Default AOS - Birth Certificate required for petitioner

Hi it's been a while since I was here but everything is going very well. We have our AOS interview on the 7th Nov and I have one question.

It says on the NOA that my wife ( as the petitioner ) needs to bring her birth certificate. Is this really needed as she has her passport showing citizen ship and place of birth ?

From personal experiance they asked for mine and I had my mum send it from the UK and they checked it at the interview.

It is needed ...at my AOS interview they asked to see both original birth certificates (mine and the wife's (USC) ) and kept copies of both as well

Hi:

Who knows what the DAO will want? Please note that the appointment letters are general in nature and often ask for irrelevant stuff. If you don't have it, you don't have it. Go to the interview anyways -- if the DAO wants it, they will give you an I-72 Request For Evidence. Actually, I think your analysis is correct -- they don't need it.
