I've been watching and learning but haven't posted anything yet...
Here is my first post...
Does anyone have recent timelines for an I-129F for a Canadian Fiancée going through
the TSC. I'm hoping to find out approximately how long the wait is.

Is the VSC's new computer system up? I know the TSC had to install and train their
people in April, though this will allegedly speed everything up.

Hi Cleo,
As per your inquiry about the I-129F timeline, my experience was with a K3 visa, but
the timeline is probably similar for the K1 visa.
- Beginning of January 2002: We filed the I-129F petition from Canada (INS received
it on January 11th).
- First week of February: My husband (just moved to the US) received the Notice of
receipt of application from the Chicago INS Office.
- Mid-February: My husband received the Approval of petition notice from the Missouri
Service Center.
- End of February: My husband received a letter from the State Department's National
Visa Center saying they received the approved I-129F petition and had forwarded it
to the US consulate in Montreal. It also stated that I would soon receive a packet
of instructions from Montreal.
- Mid-March: I received the instruction packet from Montreal. It took me a while to
gather all the information, official documents, medical exam, etc.
- May 3rd: I sent the completed packet of instructions back to Montreal by courier,
praying that I had done everything right..
- May 10th: I received my visa! (Quicker than I was expecting at this point!)
- May 20th: I arrived in the US and was reunited with my husband!!![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Now, I'm starting on the whole AOS adventure.. but at least I'm here

Good luck with your own petition!

I don't know? Our only dealings with them have been through the mail. I'm thinking it
probably is up -- and has been a while -- because things were processed pretty fast.
I can only hope that the AOS paperwork is handled just as fast.![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Why not have him enter on tourist visa, get married & then apply for spousal
visa (I-130)?
