They are cutting out InfoPass as an option.

There was an announcement sometime back that basically you would in future need to persuade them that your situation warranted an infopass.
Chicago seems you just can not do one, you can theoretically still in Denver but there are no appointments available.

The help line, which is presumably now chock a block with timeline enquiries, still exists to provide useless responses!

I know there is a new process, but do not remember when or if a time was given, seems it has been getting more and more difficult to get an appointment, so how it will pan out we have yet to see, hopefully for the best.

I travel back across the pond for work at least once a month (in Feb it'll be 3x!)...if they dont' get their act together with this processing letter soon it'll be a PITA. Current CG & drivers license expires Jan 6th.
At least my biometrics appointment came and went very smoothly.

UPDATE: Spoke to a very helpful and pleasant USCIS rep - supposedly they sent the processing notice to me on 6th November...so it's well and truly lost in USPS somewhere. They have submitted to have another form sent to me, however this could take up to 30 days. So I'm told if I haven't heard by 2nd Jan, I'm supposed to call them back and have them schedule an appointment at my local USCIS office for a passport stamp. Apparently the place in NJ near me is part of the pilot program to stop the general public making infopass appointments directly.

Urgh - still no letter. Phoned USCIS on 2nd and they said a scheduler from my local office would contact me within 48-72 hours. ...turns out iPhones detect the schedulers number as a scam phone call, so I missed the call yesterday.
No way this is getting resolved before my license and green card expire on Sunday.

We rely on USPS as if it is a competent organization...

Haha, to be fair - one of my side gigs is a small e-commerce business and I ship solely using USPS. They're generally pretty good.
But it is baffling how two letters (,,,the most important ones!) have just not shown up - the address is absolutely correct and the biometrics letter got here just fine.

This thread stimulated me to call USCIS, who told me to go ahead and make the infopass appointment. Schedule is fully booked, so will check everyday until a slot opens up...

Good luck!
UPDATE: Got an appointment at my Field Office for tomorrow morning (GC/Drivers License expires today). ....guess what bloody showed up in the mail yesterday: the processing letter.

If so, presumably there was some instruction with the infopass appointment notice for cancelling the appointment?

Yes, the notice of action letter I have to use when I travel internationally every month for the next 18 months...that won’t be annoying at all.
Not really, but I’ve used an InfoPass before when I needed a single use AP to leave the country when I was originally adjusting status. You just login and hit ‘cancel’. Haha.
