Our i-130 was approved while my husband was still here...in Feb. of '04.
The affidavit of Support was approved in Sept. of '04. Now the biographical info is being reviewed at the NVC in New Hampshire. Once that gets approved, it is on its way to the US Consulate in Jamaica. Does anyone know how long it will take for the US Consulate to review it, and schedule his Immigrant Visa interview? Thanks for any info!!

Seems you missed out a lot of information on your case for anyone to help, reading back on your previous postings.

We are all very familiar with her case. Even if we didn't remember, her question is straightforward and doesn't require further explanation.

Sorry, TE, but putting a timeline on that part of the process is difficult. Seems from others that it takes a while.

From our experience, they will send the packet out by regular mail and it will not arrive. If he doesn't get his packet within a reasonable amount of time, it would be worth a trip to the embassy to ask for the packet. It is really hard to put a time estimate on this part of the process.

as the other posters have said, too hard to call. With the mail system there, as I'm sure you know, it could be a normal amount of time 5, 7, 10 days, or it could take forever and a day.

We were fortunate. My husband's got his about 9 days after they mailed it.

Best of luck!

Emily, word on the streets these days is that NVC may take 3-5 months with the case before sending it onto the Consulate. I have not read any other I-130s going through Jamaica, but it might be worth searching at http://www.immigrate2us.net fora and see if you can find any. There are many waiver couples there, too.
Additionally, you could email the Consulate and/or check their website for details: http://usembassy.state.gov/kingston/wwwhfiv.html
