Am I too "old" to begin a new life in the U.S.
 

Dear readers,

I would like some help here.

I'm 39 years old, I live in Belgium since 1990, I was born in Rio de
Janeiro, I'm married, My wife is 43, no kids.

My wife and I went to the United States several times on vacation, we just
love being there.

Then we decided to see if we could immigration to Florida, I work as IT
manager, I have several certifications,
Including MCSE, Comptia and Cisco and have about 9 years experience in the
sector.

Do you guys thing I have some chance to get a job or am I too "old" to begin
a new life in the U.S. ?

In addition to that, I also speak 5 languages (Portuguese, spanish, Dutch,
French and English (and a little Italian).

Won't say you are too old... I am 40 and currently going through the process.( a nurse so going through a slightly different route) The problem I think will be getting a work visa as H1b's for next year I believe has already met its demand also check you qualify from description from this link http://britishexpats.com/articles/us...rk-in-the-usa/

If you have BS degree and IT exp and find employer in US then you can get H1B visa and your spouse can get H4 visa(H4 is non working visa status) US employer need to file H1 petition in April 2007 and once the Petition gets approved from USCIS employer will send you H1 approval notice and you can get H1 Visa from US consulate.

You being in IT, if you know how so called *consulting agencies* gets
contract work for It people and also do greencard, check out
www.sulekha.com. Be prepared to be low paid but do be careful.

I in my 40s and I can still crush a man skull between my hands easily. If I
hit a man with force he is a "dead man". So it never too late if you in your
40s and in good shape. I pulvorize anyone who stand in my way and smash
these young punks around here all the time in bars.

To add to the applications in April, the visa wouldn't be issued till Oct.

To get an H1B, you need a degree, or 3 years experience for each year missing of uni study, so 12 years without any college.

No idea how having MCSE's etc will come into play, but then IT is dime a dozen, considering the costs involved to sponsor someone, it isn't easy finding an employer willing to bother unless you have some specific niche skills.

And as already mentioned, spouse would get an H4, and you can't apply for a EAD with that, so no work, no SSN, so can be a bit of a chore with getting drivers license etc, but that depends on the state, and I don't have a clue what the requirements are in Florida.

It's a shame that in your 40+ years, you never learned proper spelling or grammar. I'm willing to bet, since you're so strong, that your farts will clear out a whole room full of people. Wow... it must be wonderful to be you - violent, but wonderful.

By the way, saying that you "can still crush a man skull" implies that you have previously done this... so I hope no one in law enforcement is reading, because you've just openly confessed to a crime.
