After CR6, what should we do ??? (Here is my new thread)
When you receive your CR6 and file I-751 form 3 months prior to your CR6 gets expire. Do they process security clearance again ??? Or once you get ur CR6 you r done ?
The reason i m asking cause i already waited for so long for my security clearance.
Please let me know.
Thanks

There is no fingerprinting involved with this process but I'm fairly certain there is a name check.
And if you naturalize, you get fingerprinted yet again.

Well, thats so painful. My name check took almost 2 years so u mean i will hve to wait again for so long ??
I remember i spoke to my lawyer about this and she said when they process I-751, they wanna make sure if your marriage is still stable thats it.
Please, if anyone know about this kindly let me know.
Thanks

I don't know the answer for sure, but the good news is that your status does not change while you're waiting. And, if you become eligible for citizenship while waiting for the I-751 to adjudicate, you can apply for citizenship anyway. So, it really doesn't affect your immigration status even if you have a long security check delay associated with the I-751. You can still work and travel.
Best Wishes,
Rene

Hi Rene,
Thanks for your response. I will be filling I-751 in March, cause my CR6 is expiring in June.
Thanks
Good luck !

There is a name check in virtually every new process with perhaps the exception of EAD and A/P. There is one for the K-1 if you are seeking a Fiancee Visa, the I-130 and I-485, then the I-751 and then the N-400.
You are now on their system and they have a database strictly for your name and prints so the wait might not be as long this time.
