Hi Group!
I just have a quick question regarding the affidavit of support.
My wife and i have been married for over 2 years and living in australia,
however recently she has needed to go back for personal reasons so we have
started the process at the sydney consulate.
She is back in the states now, but not working yet so obviously requires a
co sponsor.
As her family cannot help out, will INS accept a co-sponsorship from a
long-time friend of mine (friends since childhoold and he moved to the US
some years ago - he had citizenship). He is far above the poverty line, but
im concerned - will INS will look down on it since its not a family member??
Alas, my personal assets dont even come close to enough to count also![Sad](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/sad.gif)
Thanks in advance
Aaron

Yes your friend can be your co-sponsor even if he were only a permanent resident.
