Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to this question.. I need my last
two years tax returns for the affidavit of support, I filed jointly with my
ex, can I use my last two year's w-2's showing my income or do I have to get
the whole tax returns ?

You can call the IRS and they will send you your transcripts in a matter of
days. Tell them what you need them for and to ship them quickly.

My wife , filing for the affadavit for me, only provided one tax return,
they were fine with that, as long as she could show she worked in the same
place , or proof of work / income of some decription beforehand. Theyre
human, and realise some people lose these things.

This worked for you, in your interview, in your local office. Adding that caveat keeps others from thinking that this is policy everywhere, leaving them potentially shorthanded.
