Currently, my wife-to-be has a part-time job. She has that job for more than 3 years now.
That job alone is below the poverty limit. However, she will be starting a second part-time job in a couple of months. If the Affidavit of support (I-864) require past 2-3 years of income tax proof, then she will not be able to show that she earn enough. However, is it possible to substitute income tax proof with letters from her works stating that she earn more than the poverty line? Thanks for the reply. Adrian |
Are you suggesting that these letters say she actually earned more income then she
reported to the IRS? INS is mostly concerned with the current income at the time you file the I-864. Provided at the time you file it she is making enough then you would not need a co-sponsor or your proposed letters. > Currently, my wife-to-be has a part-time job. I am just curious:
When I file my I-129F, I will state my current annual salary of 35,000.000 per year. I have been at a new job for about 3 months. But in the year 2000, I probably only put under 13,000.00 in my pocket, as I was unemployed for the majority of this year. Will the aforementioned hurt my application? Or is my current salary of $35,000.00 enough with regard to the "Poverty Guidelines" to support an adult household of 2 people? Thanks so much, it sounds like a stupid question, but I want to be sure I am clear.
