Hello everyone!
My husband is American citizen, and we have an interview in January
2006. We have been married for 2 years, and have proof of life
together, s.a. joint bank statements, bills, etc. However, I am
currently a student, (although graduating in May : ), and my husband,
unfortunately, doesn't make enough money to be my affidavit of
support. We live in a very seasonal town in SC, and it's hard to find
a stable employment here. I asked my girlfriend, who lives in CA and
makes enough money to sign my affidavit of support, but I am a little
bit worried that they might cause us some problems, because my husband
is not my affidavit of support.
Did anyone have a similar problem, or heard anything about it?
Thank a lot. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you, I feel much better now.
My husband signed the affidavit of support. Unfortunately, we only have
his tax return from the last year (the one we filed together). Very
irresponsible, I know, but he moved a lot for the previous two years
and worked for different employers in the service industry, mostly
living from tips. Do you think it might be a problem if he'll only have
his tax return from the last year and the letter from the current
employer?
Thanks again,
EG

He will have to file the missing years, or have a good reason for not having filed, there is a de minimis amount for filing I think.

In addition to Boiler's excellent answer: if the problem is that he filed
but did not keep a copy, he can request a tax transcript from the IRS.
Takes about a week to get (maybe a bit longer during the holidays), and is
free.

Thank you for the compliment!
The IRS will fax you the transcript for free, we were missing one year, came the same day, but that may have been luck.
