Affidavit of support---Don't know what to do
Alright here's my situation.
We are in the early stages of the whole K1 process...getting ready to
send in I-129F. Now my question is this. I know that later on down
the road, David will have to provide an affidavit of support that I
will take with me to the interview and I have read that the affidavit
is good for a year from the date he signs it. Now David is currently
in the army but is supposed to be getting out around september 24th of
this year. Can he get the affidavit done right away and send it to
me? In that case though, is it likely to cause any problems at the
interview? I mean, if they ask me what my fiance does for a living
(which seems to be one of the questions often asked), they'll see that
my answer doesn't match the affidavit. Is that likely to cause a
problem? I really don't know what we should do. Should we get the
affidavit done right away, while he's still in the army and more then
meets the financial requirements, or wait until he gets out and hope
he finds a good paying job and then get it done? Any advice?
Thanx in advance
Melissa

Doesn't anyone have any advice on this? I'm sorry to bump this up but
we really don't know what to do. Any advice would be greatly
appreciated.

Like I said in my original message, we are just ready to send in the
I-129F so "really early" stages. We will be going through TSC (Lord
help us!! LOL) I know that currently, TSC is approving within about 6
months. So if we are approved (hopefully!) within 6 months, then that
would be about 3 months after he got out of the Army. I currently
have everything that will be requested in Packet 3, except for the
RCMP report and the medical. So as soon as Packet 3 comes in the
mail, I'll be ready. I know I'm thinking far ahead, but I want to
speed this up as much as I can. So basically, that brings us to an
interview which would take place approximatly 5 months after he got
out of the Army. Hope this makes my situation a bit clearer.
I appreciate any input you may be able to give me.
Thanx!
