I am just about to sent off my petition of to Nebraska and would like
some help with what happens next?
I have looked on the U S Citizenship & immigration site for Nebraska
and it says they are now dealing with applications sent in in April 13
2001,does this mean that people that applied then get a interview and
are close to getting a Green card or is this just the start of the
process and if this is the case what sort of time could I expect.
Also can anybody help me with what happens when I send my application
in, do I get a letter straight back with a receipt notice date or does
this also take months?
Many thanks for you help.

Processing date for I-130 generally means the cases filed before that
date have been processeed or are being
processed and the approved petitions
have ben forwarded to National Visa
Center ( for consular interview cases ) or
are being forwarded to NVC.
Interview will be scheduled after NVC
processing is complete and priority dates
are current. For immediate relatives
of US Citizens, there is no wait for the
priority date. NVC forwards the
case to overseas US Consulate after
the priority date is current.
==========================
After filing the petition, a receipt usually
arives within 2 or 3 weeks.
Look at www.uscis.gov and travel.state.gov for all these details.
Hope this is somewhat useful.

Hi,
I have applied for I-130/485(My wife is US Citizen) on July 28th 2004
at boston office which was forwarded to National Benefit Center(NBC).
At the moment, the processing date at NBC for I-130 is January 2nd
2002.
When should I expect I-130 and I-485 to be approved?
Thanks
Jess
