Default advice needed: biographical information k-1 interview frankfurt

dear folks,
i have a questions concerning the biographical sheet i have to fill
out for the k-1 interview in frankfurt (form DS-230 Part 1) and the
DS-156:

number 24 on the biographical sheet asks for previous military service
and branch, dates, rank/position, military speciality/occupation. i
have not served in the army but done the alternative, civic service.
of course there is nothing like a branch, rank or speciality when you
work in a christian parish as alternative service. how to deal with
this? and what kind of document would be sufficient for this (there is
no "military record")?

number 10 at DS 156 asks for a "Nationale Identifikationsnummer"
(national identification number). is this the german social security
number? otherwise i have no idea what this could mean...

thanks for your help.

No, it isn't. Leave it blank.

Don't leave ANYTHING blank. If it asks for something and the answer is
'none', put 'NONE'. If it asks for something that doesn't apply (like
'National Identification Number') then put 'N/A' or 'Not Applicable'. The
INS doesn't like blank spaces.

There are different opinions on it. We left parts of the forms blank and
had no problems. Others have done so as well. If the form says to use
one of those reponses then do so. I can't recall if every form contained
those instructions.

I AGREE WITH DAVE AND EMILY.. DO NOT LEAVE BLANK, AND NOT EVEN AN
N/A.. WRITE "NONE" OR "NOT APPLICABLE"....

GOOD LUCK !

I'm thrilled to see that there are others here using the Frankfurt
consulate - Jan just got his papers from them on Saturday for the K1.

Keep sharing the experiences!!
