Default Advice on K-1 (I129f) Getting Visa after Interview

Hi Everyone,

My fiancee had his interview for a visa on June 3, 2003 in Amman
Jordan and they said
it was approved. But they said there was still some processing in the
U.S. to be done before he could actually have it. It has now been 65
days and we have heard nothing. If we call the National Visa Center
they say they never heard of us and have no record of our request.
They said we should call the consulate in Amman Jordan. When I do that
I always get someone who immediately on hearing my request for
information transfers me to another number that either is busy or just
goes dead.

Does anyone have any idea where I can call just to make sure they have
not lots our paperwork? And to find out at what stage in the process
they are at (I am assuming it is the name check)?

And why would they say "Yes! Your Visa is approved!" and then go
through this long process with no clear information to us about what's
going on? It seems they should do the name check before they tell
anyone the VISA is approved.

Thanks for any advice and help!
Wendy

Hi Wendy
I just got your email and sent you a reply. I'm sure I'll be in your shoes when the time comes. I'm only going through the NVC portion now, haven't had the interview yet. There are many people on this NG going through similar problems - waiting so long after the interview to receive the visa. Hang in there....

Best Wishes,
Rene
