Default Advice on delayed N - 400

Hi

If you have any suggestions on what to do about the following N-400
please post as soon as possible.

Application received : Oct, 15, 2002
at Nebraska service center
original application as
member of military.
MILITARY N - 400

Became disinvolved with : March 16, 2003
U.S. armed forces

Notified INS of military : April , 2003
status change and of
residential change to a
state covered by VSC

Nebraska service center : Febr, 05 , 2004
sent letter with "2nd
notice title asking for
additional military info

Letter explaining change in : Febr, 06 , 2004
military status and address
and asking for case to be
transferred to VSC jurisdiction
sent to Nebraska military
service center

Letter from VSC received : March 12, 2004
ambiguous and titled
NATURALIZATION DOCUMENT
REQUEST mentioning what
papers to bring to an
interview to be scheduled.

Noticed today Newark office : April 14, 2004
is handling March 12 "2003"
N- 400 applications and
wondering if perhaps applicant
should just be sitting
here wondering if something
other than waiting should
be done. No further INS
news and family waiting
abroad for the whole K visa
process to even start
eventually.

QUESTIONS:

1) Should applicant go to the Newark office and ask "What's up"? in
view of the fact that the office is already on March 2003 and the
applican't N-400 has a date of Oct, 2002? Will that do any good? how
does one address such concerns once at that office?

2) Anyone with knowledge of how long does it "in average" take to
receive an interview after the "NATURALIZATION DOCUMENT REQUEST"
correspondence?

Thanks to anyone who posts answers.

Ok

Since no one seems to have a word of advice on this matter, and since
there may be some other people on a similar boat as me, I am going to
tell you what I am going to do, and a narration of what happens along
the way.

Very Well. I think, since both Cherry hill (which is a suboffice of
Newark) and Newark are handling a priority of Feb and March 2003,
respectively - and my application has a priority date of Oct, 15,
2002, that I should go personally and ask about my application.

I am scheduling a trip for next week to Newark, because the Cherry
hill office is closed for renovation and only open to minor assitance.
I doubt my case needs minor assistance. Nonetheless, I will show up in
Newark. I will post my findings then . Peace.

All right it went like this:

No need to get there at 4 in the morning like in other district
offices.
I got there around 10:00am - Seen and served under 45 minutes.
Officers were not sweethearts but they were not too rude either.

So this is the situation (I spoke to them in person and then like
twice over the phone): the cherry hill suboffice is closed until may.
The reps. at newark say my file is with vermont. Phone officer (not
the first person that answers the tollfree number but the actual big
cajunas) said my "immigration file" is with vermont. The first rep.
that answers thinks the cherry hill closure is the reason why my file
has not been forwarded (I don't think so).

Cherry hill will not open until may, and I sure want to vote this
time, so this is what I am going to do. I am writing letters to
Nebraska, Vermont and my local congressman. Anyone have any happy
stories with congressmen?

comprehensive immigration reform measure will make immigration safe,
legal and orderly. The SOLVE Act will reunite families, reward work,
