Advanced Parole and approved 1-485
Following on from an earlier discussion.
If our I-485 get approved whilst we are out of the country, can we reenter using our AP?
There's every possibility this might happen as our I-140 was approved Jan 21st, and we travel to Mexico for 3 days end of Feb.

Sure you can reenter using the AP if you are approved. There was a legacy INS memo on this.

By definition, one can NEVER "reenter" or be "admitted" on an advance parole. Period. That is the way it has always been. That said, if you appear at a POE and the 485 has been approved while out of the country, you will then be "admitted" pursuant to the approved 485 and will then "enter" the US.

Yeah we are current EB1C.
What would happen if we get approved a week before we leave? Or a day before? A period too short to make an infopass appointment, or even too soon to recieve our hard copies of welcome letter etc? We are only gone 3 days so not enough time to get them shipped, even if we had someone to check the mail.
What do we use to get our asses back into the USA and back to our kids? Thinking about taking a rubber dingy and a map to the rio grande
