Advance Parole Renewal and issue dates
Hello,
Can anyone indicate when the best time for request of AP approval should occur? For
example if the expiration date of the first Ap is October 30 2002, and I request
renewal on Sept 15 02, when will the new(second) AP expire? Will it expire on the one
year anniversary from the day my request was received or will it expire one year
after the first AP expires? I am asking because I have read that there is a
difference between the date the document is received and the issue date which is
related directly to the expiration date. In other words if one files for renewal of
AP 90 days in advance of the expiration date of a current AP and if the request for
renewal is accepted promptly one can obtain a new document that is actually valid for
less than a year. Sorry for the run-around!
