I have three questions about re-applying for Advance Parole:
1) Is it okay to re-apply for Advance Parole about 3 months before the
currently valid Advance Parole expires (since it is taking about 4
months for processing in Los Angeles)?
2) If it is okay to apply in advance, do you need to submit the
currently valid Advance Parole with the new application? If so, do
you need to submit the original or a copy?
3) If you need to submit the original Advance Parole, it is okay to
submit the application first, then travel with the original Advance
Parole, and then mail in the original Advance Parole to add to add the
application?
Thank you in advance.

Yes. How about filing it 4 and one-half months in advance? It makes sense
to ensure that you don't have a gap. What if you have an emergency need to
travel right after the current advance parole expiration date?

No, you don't have to submit the original. You can include a photocopy.
You should also include copies of all paperwork showing that you maintained
continuous lawful status since you entered the U.S., because USCIS checks
that for advance parole, and they don't have your file easily available.
You should also include copies of evidence of filing the I-485, for the same
reason.

This would be unfeasible anyway. USCIS has an extremely difficult time
joining a document with a file unless it has specifically asked for it.

Yes. As a matter of fact, I believe CIS recommends reapplying up to five
months in advance.

Submit a copy.

No, that would be not OK. Basically, you have to send everything at once,
because CIS is usually unable to match up your letters.
