Default Advance Parole

hello - I wonder what your experience has been with Advance Parole. My USC
husband and I are filing AOS forms (1-485, etc) at Chicago Lockbox and as I
understand it, we would need to file EAD and Advance Parole forms all at the
same time. EAD, I have heard, takes between 1 and 3 months to be issued.
Does the same apply to Advance Parole. Does biometrics fingerprinting
happen before EAD and Advance parole are issued? If so, how long does it
typically take for the fingerprinting to happen.

Many thanks.

Hi Ann,

Yes, you can file the I-485, I-765, and I-131 all at the same time, all to the Chicago lockbox.

EAD is typically taking 3 months now, from what I can tell. APs seem to be taking about that long as well, I think. The biometrics must be completed before they will issue EAD. The AP is independent of the biometrics appointment. When you get your NOAs for the AOS/EAD, there will be a number for you to call and schedule your biometrics appointment...depending on how busy your local ASC office is, it could take several weeks to get an appointment date.

Note, lately there have been posts of folks getting a notice that says they will be informed of the biometrics appointment date, with no phone number to call. We're trying to figure out if this is a new procedure or what. So don't be surprised if your notice says that instead.

Best Wishes,
Rene
