Default Adjustment from tourist to perm. resid. based on marriage to USC - arrival based on an invitation af

I am afraid that the lie told to obtain the tourist visa during the interview in the
consulate that my husband (then boyfriend) is going to see his uncle, who issued the
invitation affidavit ( in reality my father) , will have impact on his ability to
adjust his status. Also, at the POE he claimed he came to visit his uncle - are there
any written records of what is said at the POE? Also, we attempted to extend his
tourist visa through I-539 application, in which he maintains the "uncle story" -
which is probably kept in the INS records. Now with the same name of the uncle and
the wife we may have a problem. Any recommendations?

I am not a lawyer and this is not immigration advice. This is my personal opinion,
gleaned from the previous postings of others, and posted for the purpose of
discussion only. If your case is complicated, then you may need an immigration
attorney. Locate an immigration attorney in your area at: http://www.aila.org
