Adjustment of Status filing question - when to file ?

Hi - I want to file i-485 in Newark, NJ based on my Dv-2003 notification for
being a randomly chosen winner in GC lottery. I have case # 36xxxx.. I don't
think they will reject my app when walk in but I suspect they will charge me
and return the docs back by mail because my number is not current. Is that
true. I need to know for sure before go there and launch the process.

According to a lawyer I spoke to, this is exactly what will happen: the paper sent back and the checks cashed in (no refund!).
