Hi,
I am Canadian, and I recently had the I-129F petition approved from the
Nebraska service centre. It's for a k1 visa. I'm considering moving in with
my parents a couple of months before I move to the US, so that I may save a
bit of money before I go. I have a couple of questions regarding my change
of address if I do so.
1 - If I move BEFORE the consulate interview, will it matter that my police
certificate has my current address on it? I wouldn't be living in this
apartment anymore, but rather with my parents so my address will be
different (but still in Canada, so still in the jurisdiction that the police
cert covers me for). According to the RCMP office I dealt with here in
Winnipeg, the police certificate is good for 6 months and surely a person
could move in that time frame... does one need to get a new police
certificate with an updated address? The certificate itself says that it's
based on the above name and birth date, but it does list my current address,
which would be different if I moved home before I went to Montreal.
2 - Regardless of whether I move before the consulate interview, how would I
go about informing the consulate of a new mailing address? If I move in with
my parents after the interview, does it matter if I inform them of the
change of
address? I'll be having the post office forward all my mail to my parents
house, most likely so it would still get to me if they were going to contact
me (altho once the interview is done and the visa is issued, they wouldn't
have any reason to contact me, would they?)
Thanks in advance for any replies!![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
