Default Address change confusion please help

Hi,
It sure has been a while since I posted anything in this forum.
I almost get a little nostalgic.
Long story short
Im here on a K3 visa
lived in orange county 1st year here and moved to
the high desert a month and a half ago.
I filed for AOS about 2,5 months ago and got the
confirmation letter from Santa Ana office a week ago!!!
to our old address even if I sent the address change in
to both NBC and Santa ana over a month ago.
What should I do since I cant call them??
/D

It is always a great idea to write notes to your service center or local uscis office (preferably by return receipt mail).
Most importantly however you do need to file form AR-11 for any address changes, in fact you're obliged to file it:
http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/ar-11.htm
Hope that'll help!

Thank you
I did send the address change to the local office (and NBC) but I guess it was to close in time from when I filed the AOS (moved 1 month after filing).
I have been doing everything by the book but I guess it is not enough sometimes.
I went down and talked to them at the Santa Ana office and they reffered me to San Bernadino which is my "new" local office.

Anyone outthere with similar experience?

Berga

I did the same thing I changed my address by writing them a letter and also sending the AR11 to Kentucky lol and they denied my AOS due to " abandonment " they never updated my addy. So I made an info pass appointment to motion to re-open my case only to be told once I got there that I had to mail it in lmao. So I made copies of everything I sent them them sent it to Houston District certified mail, now all I can do it wait and see if I get an answer.

Sorry to hear it happened to you at least that didn't close your close like they did mine.

The USCIS never updated my address on the system and sent it to 3 addresses ago and I never recieved it so they deemed my AOS as abandoned and denied my case even though I did everything right like I was meant to. Mistake is on their end not mine.

Hi
Just wanted to tell you that I went to San Bernadino local office today
and actually just walked in and talked to the person who checks if
you have got an appointment. She told me that our file was at their
office (the right one) and therefor they have to have gotten the address
change and told me to schedule an app. in a month to make sure it's
changed in the system as well.
Note that I have a forwarding service to this address and that I already did my fingerprinting so I don't think our petition will be closed if I follow it up.

Just an advice to all of you out there with pending cases and planning to move. Make sure everything is in order by confirming with your local
office.

What was wierd for me was that I had *just* sent in my I-865 "Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address" since I'm the USC and we got our I-130 approval at the new addy w/an AR-11.

I *am* the sponsor, right?
Guess I better send the AR-11 too, just to be safe... Blah.
