Default "Additional Administrative Work"

What exactly does this mean? My fiance had his interview on June 14,
2004 and now it is more than 2 months later and we are still waiting.
My congressman's office can't seem to get any further information from
them, although they did say that when they ran the background check
that more than one individual came back with the same name (which
seems quite unlikely, as his last name is very unusual). Is this
"additional administrative work" a standard thing or should I be
worried they will be denying the visa? HELP!!

If his name check with the IBIS came back with hits, then the procedure that you are now going through is standard. A name does not have to be common name in order to have acquired hits. At least a more uncommon one will mean it should be easier to check out.

Thanks so much for the information. At what point should we expect to
hear something? 3 months? 4 months? or longer? It has been over two
months now. We just feel so alone because we have no idea of when we
will hear something.
