Default Absence from the US and N-400

Are you allowed one absence of less than a year prior to applying for citizenship
based on I-130?

I know you are based on the 5 year qualification, but is it the same for the 3 year?

thanks,

Ann

I recommend reading the Guide to Naturalization on the INS WebSite. If the absence is
greater than 6 months, your 3 years starts all over. You can not be absent for more
than 6 months at a time, or for more than a total of more than 18 months in the 3
year period.
