Hi All,
I got married to a Canadian citizen who is staying in USA as a Green
Card Holder. My spouse has already applied for naturalization and just
one month ago she had her interview for US citizenship. She is now
waiting for the Oath and final ceremony. We got married about 11months
ago in India. Initially we started the process of immigration via
Canada. She sponsored me via Canada; it got approved and came to India
now I am in the process of sending my application and supporting
documents to Canadian Visa office in India. Since getting family visa
through GC spouse takes longer time in USA that's why we decided to
go via Canada immigration. Right now we are planning to apply for my
GC via USA as my spouse will get citizenship soon.
Now following are my queries:
1. Is it possible to get H1B visa and then file petition for permanent
resident form USA?
2. How many weeks generally it takes after interview to get the
citizenship oath.
3. Can I have GC for two countries at a time?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, if you can find a company to sponsor you and meet the requirements.

It depends on the local INS office.

I expect that after you have been out of Canada for a while your landing
status there will be revoked but other than that, yes you can.

No you cannot have green cards from different countries at one time. Also I would like to know how Canada is going to approve your visa to be a resident there if your wife is no longer a resident in Canada as she has taken up residency in the US and has an official green card and is applying for naturalization. You cannot petition in two countries for the same benefitis. Does she still have a residency address in Canada? Pay taxes in Canada on worldwide income? You can only petition in the country you reside in. Perhaps Canada will wake up and see what is really going on here and then again they might not.
