Our 1st Noa was May 22nd and we have just received word from Us that
we have a letter from Ins wýth approval. We are to be married on
Friday here in Turkey. After speaking with a Nebraska officer a couple
weeks ago who told me (in NOT very nice terms) that we had at least
another 6-8 weeks to wait for the approval we decided to go ahead with
our plans to get married ýn September and file directly with Ankara
consolate. They have told us it will be maximum 6 months for his visa
to be approved with DCF. Our question ýs what ýs normal timeline after
2nd NOA?? and what happens ýf we just cancel the fiance visa?? How do
we cancel ýt and will the consolate think badly of us for doing ýt??
We will have the fax of 2nd NOA tomorrow should we take it to embassy
and explain we were told our wait would be SO long from Nebraska.. In
fact the imformation officer basically told me our chances of approval
were so slim because he was in Turkey and the government isnt
approving men between the ages of 21 and ?? who are Muslim. We just
dont want the consolate to think badly of us and we dont want the wait
to go on and on for us to be together. Everything is almost ready for
our marriage to take place on Friday. Advice anyone... please.

When you get your fax, could you please post when the 2nd NOA was approved.
Plus I think I saw a post that Turkey is doing the "administrative
processing" after the interview like Moscow, China, etc. So either way you
go, you might have a wait.

Hi Peachster,

Looks like NSC are fairly flying through May now but I'm still waiting
(I-129f NOA1 April 12th). Got message from Senator's office on Friday
(they had to call them since NSC did not reply to their mail or email)
that my petition was in security checks (what a surprise!)and to get
back in touch if I don't here anything in a couple of weeks. Spoke to
information officer yesterday (Tuesday 17th) and was told it had gone
to an officer on the 13th (coincidence with the senator's call?)and I
would hear in a week. A message from the other senator's office said
the same thing except I would hear in 3 weeks.

Would really like to believe this but have been disappointed so many
times. Hope to hear before my birthday next week (was orginally hoping
my fiance would be here by then but Christmas would be fine with me
now). Terrified of getting an RFE/RFI. Also if I don't hear soon we'll
have to make plans to meet in Canada (hmmm....can see savings for the
wedding dwindling rapidly) since working for the government I don't
get enough holiday to make it worthwhile going to England and, of
course, he can't come into the US while the K-1 is pending.

Laura I am so sorry your having to still wait this out. I can't believe you have not gotten an approval yet.

Well I just got off the phone with Nebraska & I can't beleive I actually got thru. The guy I talked to had a real interesting voice to say the least. Real graspy. LOL Anyway I asked about mine & it is still pending. GRRRRRRR I dont wanna hear that. I also asked about where they was at for processing & he said April. Also told me not to plan any wedding plans & that when we do get married not to honeymoon outside the US cause my fiance can't get back in then. Well I know all this. So I tell him well I been hearing about people from May getting approved & he was rambling about special cases being processed faster & brought up if I was pregnant, I said no. He then asks me am I dying & I said no. I almost busted out laughin when he asked me is "he" my fiance pregnant. LMAO I am like excuse me but just went along. LOL He then tells me I just have to wait it out. I said I know these things can be a long wait, I am just antsy & thanked him for his time.

Damn I was hoping to hear your case has went to an officer. SIGH

So a "special" case would be if my fiance and I were either dying or pregnant. How interesting. If I would have known that we could have planned a pregnancy or deadly disease about the time we filed. j/k

I hit day 100 next Wednesday, certainly not waiting as long as most of you. But I think just for the heck of it I will fax out the action letter to my congressman. Mostly cause I am curious as to the answer I will get so I can report back to the group.

And just so I feel that the INS isn't entirely running my life these days, we've set a wedding date of May 2nd. Somehow just knowing that there will be an end gives me some small comfort today.....

I didn't see a box on the I-129f asking if I was pregnant!! So I don't
think it would make any difference to them if I was (God could you
imagine how much worse this wait would be if I was!!). Not only do you
have 90 days to get married in (well, less really becasue of EAD's
etc)but you (or your husband to be)have to be visibly pregnant to
actually be together. Special cases ..my arse!
