129f approval out of time? Texas/London

I've read today on this group that the approved 129f petition is valid for
four months, and must be valid at the interview. I have my K1 interview in
London on the 23rd of January, and at that point the 129f will be expired by
approximately 1 month :( When I filled packet 3 and sent of the IV15
checklist I was "in time" by just a few days. (I was honestly unaware of
this short timescale when I was preparing the forms to send to the London
consulate).
I'm trying to stay calm about this and work a solution out. Would the
consulate have given me an interview date knowing that my 129f was over the
four month expiry? Is it something common that they see a lot of the time?
How likely are they to turn a blind eye to this and grant me an extension?
Does my fiancée (USC) have to write the London Consulate to grant an
extension - Is there an official form for this process? Or can I get her to
type a notarized statement to express that her wishes to petition me are
still valid - and I can bring this to the interview? (Bearing in mind its
only 17 days away, and to get her to type it, and notarize it and mail it to
the London consulate and get them to do process it is likely to take about
that amount of time anyway).
Any advice will be most appreciated, thank you.

Hi Richard
The only question I have is would London send you a interview date, knowing the time limit was up ?
I think it might be worth you phoning London to ease your mind, the number will be on the paper work they have sent you.
Wish you luck kit
