Sorry, if you know they've taken payment, then you're OK. I probably misread and though you guys were saying you haven't heard ANYTHING.

Hey kids, if they have taken payment for your petition, it IS being processed. I've been watching London DCF cases since 2002 and this has always been so. 
The text etc notification is sort of new and is an extra manpower step.. it wouldn't surprise me to have that be behind.
Posted processing date:
As of January 10, 2011, we are processing petitions filed on October 1, 2010.
In all the years I have been watching these cases, they are very consistent at 5 months, petition to visa.
The specific 'when' of any step in there is really not that important. Be prepared, and respond when requested.

Yes thanks :-) It does help to hear this especially when you feel in the 'black hole' , Ians point is well taken too as when you heard nothing you just waited !
As we now have the expectation of an email or letter it does cause more anxiety !
