hello all i married my fiancee a week ago, only to find out i might get laid off
within the next few days (economy and all). the problem is, i still need to file the
adjustment of status for my wife (i-485 and i-864). the clock is ticking as the 90
days of bringing the fiancee and marrying her thing is about a month away (must file
adjustment of status and show you are married), but how do i file an affidavit of
support if i don't have a job? i mean, the timing couldn't be worse. my wife flew all
the way here to be with me and i am scared that her paperwork will be seriously
effected by this. can i still file without a job? is there an extension? is there
some kind of waiver? i am furiously looking for a new job and am sure i can get one
in a couple of months, but the deadline for her AOJ/i-485/i-865 will be before that.
