Would anyone know how long a wait it is to get the receipt after the filing of
adjustment of status papers in NYC?

If Chicago is anything to go by.... 6 weeks and still nothing?
I have heard that some people never get one? but it would be nice if they acknowledged us.
When did you send it?

I filed AOS in cleveland. They dont give I-797 recipet but they send me cashier' receipt(somehting like grocessory store receipt) in 10 days. This receipt listed my applications and fees i paid.
Today I called them they replied that my application is still in fee procesing room. LOL
