Is your tree up yet?

Re: Is your tree up yet?
HID insisted that we get a new tree as apparently she is going to invite people over in the holidays. My prediction is this won't go well.

Boxing Day 3 PL matches on TV though none involving Spurs.
New Years eve morning another 2 PL matches none involving Spurs
Plus the assortment of NBA, NFL and College Football games and Iced Hockey what more could you ask for?
Oh yeah peace and quiet from HID and her friends. Hope they bring lots of rug rats over and the odd pet.

There again I wouldn't be taking a $100 bottle of Scotch/Rum/Cognac etc over and seeing nobody drink it and therefore don't mind leaving it.

Having lopped 31 inches of the top and bottom, it finally fits under the beam- 11ft. I will take my tape measure next time.

This is ours. I think it's 6 feet, but it's fake made in China Wal-mart special....lol Don't think anyone in Canada makes fake trees.
Not my first choice, but apartment dwellers we are, live trees are banned.

Tbh, having chopped it down, dragged it a three miles (well, so it seemed!), lifted with Minipup and two others onto the roof of the car, then off the car, dragged up the stairs, wrestled it into the stand and then took ages decorating it....you got the better tree JS- it looks nice

Re: Is your tree up yet?
Just done it.
As mentioned earlier we opted for a smaller one (from mother in law's collection of stuff) rather than our usual one and re-sited on the basis we'd see it more.
To be honest it looks a bit weedy and it's fibre optic rather than 'real' lights.
(like this one)
Perhaps it'll look better when it's not so bright outside.

Yep - put ours up today. Missed out on the trees I wanted at the local garden centre as we were 'a bit late' according to the owner!!!

Re: Is your tree up yet?
I haven't got a tree yet, and I'm starting to hope I can get away with it. If irritability and grumpiness are symptoms of one of those 'silent ' heart attacks I keep reading about then this week's snow may be to blame, but I think the shine started to wear off Christmas about four decades ago. I am approaching my half century and I am turning into the grinch. The top 5 things I still enjoy about Christmas are
1. Lights
2. Bread sauce
3. Drinking before lunch
4. Ummm....
5. Nope. That's it.
What's still good for you?
