Yes, fresh lamb has been on sale here at a very good price for the last 2 or 3 weeks.

It's labelled as "local" or "Canadian" at our local Safeway

Re: Wot no Lamb!
I happened to have read this shortly before popping out to pick up a roasting joint for Easter lunch - a 5lb short leg for $30 isn't too shabby at all. Had a lovely leg of lamb yesterday (with roast spuds, parsnips, carrots, peas, redcurrant jelly, mint sauce, gravy) as a result, and there are enough leftovers for me to have a decent lunch in the office today before putting the rest to good use in a curry. Thanks for the heads-up!

I too read this and popped out on Satuday with a sense of grim determination.I tried 2 Sobeys and both the North and Southside Superstores and the Farmers market...zilch...although I bought 4 chump chops in case things got desperate.
The last place I went, our 3rd Sobeys, I found a hidden short half leg, just perfect for me and my son. A very happy dance ensued!!! I swear I got the very last bit in Fredericton...
Interesting with the auto correct (I'm on my phone) it changed chump to both chimp and Cheung..I'm rather pleased I spotted it! Neither a chimp or Cheung's chops would have cut the mustard!

This year I found a jar of redcurrant jelly in the back of the cupboard. It was a bit (well, a lot) crystallized but it still goes extremely well with roast lamb and doesn't suffer any harm when mixed with mint sauce.

You have mustard with your lamb chops? How very bold. I can't make myself try what I'm sure is a good combo - as I hear my grandmother's voice intoning, disapprovingly, some little rhyme about "mustard with mutton, sign of a glutton."

More importantly, those of us who eat lamb are apparently sick ****s.
