Personally I think Langley really blows.

It's flat, and featureless, with interbred strip malls and faux-craftsman developments galore.

Plus transit from there sucks, the commute is long, the school board is smoking crack, and it's nowhere near the sea

- St Jamestown, City Place, south Etobicoke, high rise projects, lots of units rented, moderately priced when new, unsaleable when old.
What's wrong with Asians (either sense)?

However Brampton does have regular games of Cricket in season, Soccer is very popular, Curry is easy to find, lost of British stuff available, but if you’re concerned about immigrants then this isn’t going to be your place of choice, cradle’s are very few and far between, and it’s all urban sprawl..

Language. People move to Markham and/or will not move away from Markham because they don't want to have to learn English. I'd rather not learn Chinese so I'm better where people speak English.

I suppose everywhere up north is a bit of a trial due to the weather and remoteness, but of towns of any size, Hay River has a bad reputation, the only time its on the news is when someone gets murdered there. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/...ver-trial.html

Sounds lovely.

In certain areas of Surrey local residents have had to produce flyers for some of the newly arrived (and some longer term) residents to inform them that although it may have been accepted back in their home country, openly weeing in their driveways, front gardens, other peoples driveways or front gardens is not socially accepted and will be reported to the police if it continues.

Its funny, i saw it last week where an Indian fella was weeing from his font garden into the flowers seperating his and his neighbours garden. He was happily chatting on his phone full stream.

This is about 50yrds away from a local elementary school.

It could be a business opportunity, but unfortunately it's in a residential area nowhere near wildlife

I lived in Brampton around 1989-1991 and it was very popular in terms of cricket, curry etc....Bramalea had a quite sizeable population of ex-pats (some english but a high proportion of scottish) who had come as adults in the 60's/70's and had still clung to their fish and chip shops and Pig and Whistle type pubs. In the intervening 20 years that may have all gone.

I think a lot of the older white brits have moved out to George town, whinging about the influx of immigrants, who from what i could gather were just as likley to have come from bradford as bombay..

Basically you wanted to start a thread about how Langley sucks but you decided to do it this way instead...

I like Fort Langley. I would also be happy to live in South Langley. It is quiet, rural and many places have great mountain views.

The bit of Langley between the two less so.

My wife's Aunt had one the other day.

It was all nicey nicey with a bit about respecting each others cultures, blah blah blah, but urinating in public or others property cannot be accepted, blah blah blah. Then something about if found, the police will be involved, blah blah blah.

It did start by welcoming people to the area though
